Our Story

Otis & Oak Bakehouse began with a childhood memory- and a determination not to let something special disappear completely.

Growing up, we had a local bakery called Grant's that made the most unforgettable petit fours.  If there was a baby shower, wedding, birthday, or special gathering, you went to Grant's.  Their little cakes became part our community's celebrations until the bakery eventually closed.

During COVID, I became determined to recreate the feeling I remembered.  I wasn't trying to claim Grant's recipe or replace what they had built.  I simply wanted to make a petit four that brought back the same excitement- the kind of treat people look forward to before they ever arrive at the party.

I've always believed you should never compete where you don't compare, so I kept working until I created something I was proud to serve.  Today, my petit fours are requested again and again for special occasions or those ordinary days that could use something sweet.

But Otis & Oak is about more than baked goods.  I love old-fashioned country stores, thoughtfully made natural products, and recipes created with real ingredients and a little patience.  I believe the best recipes don't come from a box-and even in this age of technology, I still love sitting down with an actual cookbook.

I've always loved places that make shopping feel like part of the experience.  Cracker Barrel is one of my favorite places to shop for personal Christmas gifts, and I love browsing the country shops tucked throughout Dollywood.  Both remind me that the best finds aren't always the flashiest- they're the useful, nostalgic, and heartfelt things that felt chosen with someone special in mind.

That feeling is what I want Otis & Oak Bakehouse to offer: scratch-made treats for local Georgia customers, along with carefully chosen home, body, seasonal, and gift goods that feel useful, comforting, and special.

Thank you for allowing something made from one of my favorite memories to become part of yours.
